Many tourists when they jet into the country, they are only looking forward to the safari activities they are going to do. But what they don’t realise is that the safari experience is more than just the safari activities that happen. Landing at Entebbe airport

Your safari experience starts when you land in the country are Entebbe international airport. When you land you go through the customs and all the different immigration checks and if all your documentation is good you procced to the arrivals where you meet you pick up.

Pick up by your tour guide

You will meet you guide at the arrivals pick up and then you will drive out to the city to your accommodation for that particular day.

Accommodation for the day and night

Most of the overseas flights to Uganda come in, in the night, late afternoon or early morning.  So depending on what time you arrive in Uganda you will head to your accommodation where you will relax, have a meal and spend a night.

This accommodation can be either in Entebbe or Kampala; depending on your preference and budget.

Travel to safari destination

The next day you will get up early, have breakfast at your accommodation and then set off to your safari destination.

So you will leave you accommodation in central region and drive (you will have a driver and tour guide) to upcountry where you will head to your safari destination place. You may be on the road for about 4 hours, 6 hours, 8 hours or 10 hours depending on the park you are going to.

Start itinerary activities

When you arrive at your safari destination place you will now start you safari itinerary activities. Also this depends on the time you arrive at the safari place. If you arrive at the safari place quite early you may just jump straight into your activities or you may opt to check into your accommodation and relax then rest for the day.

You will spend the next couple of days at your safari place just experiencing the wild and animals according to your itinerary. Your Itinerary may also include you visiting other safari destinations in what is known as a combined safari. Literally your itinerary dictates.

Some of the safari activities you will do on your itinerary include game drives, boat rides, nature walks, bird watching activities, community visits, primate trekking among others.

Finish itinerary activities and travel back to the city

When you are done with all the activities on your itinerary you will now have another road trip to the capital Kampala or straight to Entebbe for your flight out of the country.  Sometimes though you want to enjoy the city before you depart so you can have a city trip then you head out of the country for your next pitstop.
