The splendid gorge lies East of Queen Elizabeth National Park which is also popular for the rare tree climbing lions and other big game. - Kyambura Gorge and Kalinzu Forest Reserve – These forest reserve seat in Western Uganda, near Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a home to all 290 chimpanzees, 410 birds and other species of wildlife. Kyambura Gorge and Kalinzu chimpanzee permits cost US Dollars 50 per person.
Golden monkey trekking
This amazing activity is done in Mgahinga national park. Golden monkey permits cost $100 per person. These primates are identified with a gold color on their back and cheeks. Golden monkeys thrive on the slopes of Volcano Mountains especially where they can find nutritious bamboo trees. Golden monkeys are sociable primates and live in groups of about 60 individuals. They feed on mostly bamboo trees, fruits and occasionally on small insects. On a normal day, the monkeys head out to look for bamboo shoots and fruits before resting for the night. They sleep on the branches of large bamboo tree where they can not be seen by their predators.
Game viewing
Game viewing is done in most of the parks in Uganda. These parks include Queen Elizabeth national park, Lake Mburo national park, Murchison falls national park and Kidepo valley national park. Here, visitors will spot different game. These include the big cats like lions, leopards and cheetah, Elephants, buffalo, giraffes, buffalo, and plenty of antelopes can be spotted as you drive through the savanna grasslands.
