Bahai temple is known as a house of worship which is open to the public and sermons are prohibited in here. They only accept scriptural texts to be read. Bahia derives from an Arabic word which means “Down place of remembrance of God” and before it was named Mashqu-I-Adhikar and later it referred to be Bahai temple, the house of worship to “Bahia faith”. Bahai faith is a religion of God bought by his messengers namely moses, Jesus, Muhammed and other prophets. It started in Persia on 23 May 1844 with a young man known as Bab who proclaimed himself to be a messenger of God. He was a great world teacher and revealer of the word of God who would come to bring peace of man. Bahai temples are built worldwide and these are the few temples to be mentioned like in the Panama City Bahai temple, santiago,New Delhi,Wilmette Chicago, Sydney, Frankfurt and Bahai temple Kampala. Bahai temple is well known as the mother temple of Africa located on Kikaya hill which is one of the hills that are in Kampala City, in kawempe division. Bahai temple is a structure of its kind and serves as the temple of Bahai faith on “the African continent”. Bahai temple of Uganda was designed by Charles Mason Remey in late years.
Bahai temple has a unique architecture which was established at 52 acres [200,000] meters of its land with beautiful gardens full of trees, flowers, administrative center, guest houses and grasses with clean nature ground. Bahai temple which represents “faith” & it was constructed in a unique way with the selection of materials like landscaping, architecture basing on social, culture and environmental elements of its location. The mother temple of Africa measures 130 feet high and over 100m diameter at base. The dome which was designed with unique tiles raising over 124 feet high and 44 feet in diameter. The temple is 10 feet high off the ground to resist from earthquakes which are common in the continent Africa and worldwide. Unfortunately, the first temple to be built Ashkhabad was demolished in 1962 after being damaged by an earthquake.
The temple which is a place of worship it was characterized to have nine sided circular shapes and it was beautified with green dome made of fixed mosaic tiles from Italy. Its roof was designed with tiles of Belgium. Fortunately the doors and the seating benches were made from Uganda. The walls of temple were also built using stones quarried of Uganda and it also has colored glass on its walls which was bought from Germany thus making this place of worship to be a beautiful park which attracts people around it and thousands of foreigners who visit this place because of its unique architecture and green grasses with lots of tree species full of fresh nature.
The mother temple shows a symbol of mankind and it welcomes all people from different religions. People who gather at Bahai temple are “ the Bahai faith” who are followers of Baha’u’llah. Baha’u’llah which means “Glory of God”. People believe in him and is it believed to have existed for all ages. Baha’u’llah is a great teacher of all mankind who enables humanity to build new world with peace and harmony that will represent Bahia faith in humankind to live in prosperity on the earth.

The mother temple gives a great view since it is located on hill and also gives amazing experiences of its unique architecture with green ground. The temple itself acts as a tourist attraction to Uganda’s tourism hub. Many visitors visit this beautiful park to have peaceful memories and also to enjoy the beauty of Uganda. Uganda has got very many tourist attractions within the city and also the national parks.
