It is a replica of Tatton Hall in England and was constructed between 1938 and 1954 plus also set up the agricultural training college that was later transformed into Egerton University. The construction lasted over a period of 16 years and by the time the castle was completed, Egerton was deeply in love with another woman. Broken and bitter, he lived out his days on the 32-acre estate until his death in 1958, threatening any woman who came close with gunfire.
