This is the season that has the most sun in the country, and usually it’s the summertime for most people so they prefer to explore the wild and the landscape during this time. Uganda has two significant dry seasons. The long one that starts in June and goes all through to August; then the short one the starts in December and goes all through to February.

What makes the dry season tick for tourism is that it allows you to explore the wild, have hikes and treks, experience communities and many other things without the rain interference.
In the dry season you will see the fauna just moving around their habitat and going on with their day-to-day activities; because its dry the animals are more visible.

The wet season as the name suggests in characterized with water or rather rainfall sometimes light rains other times heavy rains but just know you will have a taste of rain in this season. Usually, the light rainfall months run from March all through to May and the heavy rainfall months run from October all through to December. But as stated earlier due to climate change, even the months assumed to have heavy rain, will not have as much so really its bearable rain.
In this season you are able to do all the Uganda safari activities just that if you’re hiking or trekking the trails may be more challenging than usual because they are slippery and soggy, the access routes to the parks may also be muddy and slippery, taking you a longer time to reach the park than Usual. Sometimes the animals take shade in thick bushes, so it may be harder to spot them and a couple of other things.
However, if you have a very experienced tour guide and operator, they have hacks for all these things so your safari experience will be as good as that in the dry season.
The biggest plus of the wet season is that the tourists are few so, you get time enjoy the wild to the maximum, no time limit or anything, you can do an activity more than once because you can, there is no one waiting behind you. Also, these seasons because they are less crowded will have the best safari package discounts of all time.
