4 Days budget kidepo safari
Take part in the 4 days kidepo wildlife safari. Kidepo valley national park situated in the Karamoja semi-arid area on the border with south Sudan and transcending to its north east is Kenya. The park still stands out as Uganda’s top most endowed and unique wild places. Its being uncharted keeps the revelation of its constituents in terms of wildlife species still undiscovered by many. Kidepo boasts of wildlife that cannot be sighted elsewhere in the Uganda’s national parks. Some of the wildlife found in kidepo includes the buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, leopards, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, kobs ,bush bucks, bush duiker. The park also is home to several bird species to include the large and conspicuous ostriches. With all mentioned join a 4 days kidepo wildlife safari to have an experience of Uganda’s true wilderness.
Days 1: Transfer to kidepo valley national park.
Early in the morning after breakfast, you guide will pick you from your place of residence. You will then embark on a safari to Kidepo Park, you will take the shorter route, which is via Soroti or Mbale Kapchorwa district, and the journey will take you 8-10 hours depending on the time of your departure time. It recommended that one departs at 6:00 am so as to arrive at Kidepo in time. Upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Do a morning game drive and community visit.
In morning after breakfast, you embark on a game drive around Kanangorok hot springs, valley filled with several wildlife and bird species, still in the afternoon before departing for lunch, you will drive to Narus valley another area where you will spot several wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, buffalo herds, zebras, lions, leopards, cheetahs, bushbuck warthogs and bird species such as ostriches, you will have ample time to take photos. Later return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. After lunch you will you drive for a community cultural tour of the Karamojong, a known pastoral community famous for their ancient practices thus do not welcome modernity for reasons for diluting their culture. You will personally interact with the Karamojong seeing some of their practices such as mode of construction, cooking etc.
Day 3: Morning nature and evening game drive.
Early in the morning, you will head for a nature walk in the savanna spotting several plant species and wildlife species. Later drive back to your lodge for lunch and a brief relaxation, later take an afternoon game drive in the savannah, spotting the trees and other wildlife not forgetting the hills and mountains besides you. Drive back to the accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Drive back to Kampala.
Early in the morning you will have breakfast and check out of your camp/ lodge, have scenic drive back to Kampala, after a short but rewarding stay at kidepo valley national park.
