5 Days Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari takes you to a home of over 600 species of birds and more than 95 mammals species. However, Queen Elizabeth national park is the most visited and the second largest park in Uganda covering an area of over 1,978square Kilometers, sited in the south of Majestically snow caped Rwenzori Mountains and bordered with two lakes George and Edward that are connected by the hallmark of Kazinga Channel where travelers enjoy the boat cruise from. The Park is an ecosystem inhabitant of wetland and open savannah areas that contributes to faunas and floras found in here.

Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park: You will be picked by our safari driver guide from your hotel after morning breakfast in order to beat up the traffic jam. On your way you will have a stopover at the Equator to observe how longitude measures zero degrees Celsius. Proceed to Mbarara town for en –route Lunch. After lunch drive straight to the park, arrive check in and go for birding.

Bird Watching: Upon your arrival at the park check into your lodge. Then go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel for remarkable sights of hippos, crocodiles. elephants and several notable water birds such as Fish Eagles, Kingfishers, Pelican, Skimmers, Cormorants, Ibis, Bee-eaters, plover mentioned few these will totally brush off the long travelling hours. Back to the lodge Dinner and Overnight stay.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner 

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking

Chimpanzee trekking: After early morning breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge with your packed lunch boxes to transfer you to the briefing point center to brief you about the rules of chimpanzee tracking. After go meet the park ranger to lead you to Kyambura Gorge where chimpanzee tracking is carried out. Through tracking you will learn about the ecosystem of Kyambura Gorge’s atmospheric including vegetation types, bird identification, chimpanzees and monkey ecology. Once you find them, you will be given one to watch to spend with them learn how they feed, play, behavior among others take photograph. After tracking, return back to the lodge for relaxation and Overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive and Visit the Cave 

Morning game drive: You will wake up have breakfast, then go for exploration in both sectors Ishasha and Kasenyi plains. Expect to explore variety of animals like buffaloes, tree climbing lions, elephants, antelopes, warthogs and baboons. Note, taking an experienced guide in the early morning brings out successful way to track down a pride of lions and if lucky also the leopards. Drive back to the lodge for lunch.

Visit the Cave: Later on, walk to Maramangambo forest to explore the Bat cave that provides a perfect view room of observing the resident bats and pythons to tourists. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Hike and Nature walk and Launch Trip

Hike: Wake up have early morning breakfast, then go for guided nature walk to explore the landscape and Wildlife of Queen Elizabeth national park. Along here, you will visit the Mweya peninsula with great views of Ishasha River where you will be able to watch a variety of forest and savannah species plus having rewardable opportunity to get extremely close to hippos while on foot. Back to the lodge for lunch.

Launch Trip: After having lunch, go on the Kazinga channel an oasis that inhabits the fascinating species that are found in the park and engaging in boat tour along it gives visitors an opportunity to cruise near from hundreds of enormous hippos and buffalos while elephants can be seen on the shoreline. Dinner and Overnight stay

Day 5: Morning Game Drive /Departure

Morning Game drive: Wake up early have your morning breakfast and then drive to the park to have chances of spotting the early morning risers such as waterbucks, leopards, buffaloes, lions, warthogs, Kobs, bush cats, Hyenas as well as beautiful bird species many more. Note that you will get the real test of the African Jungle after the gorgeous game drive which can take 2 to 3 hours. After return back to the lodge for lunch and then head back to Kampala or Entebbe Airport to catch up with your flight.
