In general, Murchison Falls National Park is a home abundance of wildlife species with over 76 mammal’s species including; elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, warthogs, hyenas, bush backs, giraffes, Jackson hartebeests among others. It is also haven of birds with over 450 bird species as well as a home of reptiles such as Monitor lizards, crocodiles many more. All these large population of wildlife can be explored across the savannah which happens to be part of the park’s vegetation cover. More so, the park makes a perfect game drive opportunity of spotting the big four out of the big five. Despite, Murchison Fall National Park lies in the northwestern side of Uganda covering an area of about 3,840 square kilometers in terms of space thus ranking the country’s largest and oldest national park in terms of size and above all, it sounds as one of the world’s most powerful water fall ‘Murchison Falls’ where the park got its name. Getting there, takes roughly 4 to 5 driving hours from Kampala Uganda’s capital city. On visit to Ikoromo safari lodge, you can engage in boat cruise along Nile river. You will be able to cruse near a school of hippos, have great views of water birds like cattle egrets, African kingfisher many more. You will also cruise near the devil’s cauldron and be able to have close great view of the thundering water falls. The cruise offers gainful view of wild animals along the river bank of the Nile, animals like elephants, buffaloes among others.
