But before the trekking, tourists are encouraged to at least reach an hour before the trekking begins and gather at the park headquarters where they present their gorilla  trekking permits and go through a registration process and after they are given short briefings about the rules and regulations to follow while during the trekking such as; to avoid drinking and eating while in the presence of the gorillas, avoid maintaining direct eye contact with the species most especially the silverback, keep a distance of about 7 meters between themselves and the gorillas in order to avoid any harm, disable the use of flash lights while recording videos and taking pictures of the species, lower the tone of their voices while near or within the parks and limit unnecessary movements while in the presence of the gorillas because it is risky. Later after the briefings, the trekkers are put in different groups with a maximum number of eight people and this depends on which gorilla groups individuals are willing to track. Best Time for Gorilla Trekking in Uganda.

Tourists planning to travel to Uganda on a gorilla trekking safari can travel at any time of the year however,  the dry season, it is considered to be the best time for trekking because during this period of time, there happens to be less rains which enables you to run your daily routine as planned earlier and the grass vegetation in the park is always short which enables tourists to get classic views of the gorillas and other species in the park such as; zebras, antelopes, elephants and many others.
