Entrance Fees in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park are the charges that are levied on travelers who would like to access the park to engage in different activities in the forest.
Bwindi Impenetrable national park lies in the southwest part of Uganda at the edge of Albertine Rift valley. It is approximately 321 square kilometers of both lowland and montane rain forests and can be easily accessed by foot. The park inhabits 120 species of mammals, 220 species of butterflies, 27 species of frogs, more than 1000 species of flowering plants, 163 species of trees, 104 species of tern and lastly, it boasts with half of the mountain gorillas that are remaining in the world with a total number of more than 400 species of endangered mountain gorillas and other primates. The park is a world heritage site and managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority which is responsible for all protected national parks in Uganda. The park is estimated to be 7 to 8hours from Kampala City by road.
Individual park Entrance fees
Individual the park entrance fees for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park are based on the status of the visitors i.e. foreign residents of Uganda, foreign non-resident and East African citizenship.
Foreign residents of Uganda (adults) are expected to pay USD 40 per day per person and children below 15 years are to pay USD 10 to enter Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Foreign non-residents pay USD 40 for adults and children pay USD 20 to enter the park.
The East Africa citizen are supposed to pay UGX 15000 for adults.
Students & pupils who are East African citizens pay UGX 5000 and UGX 3000 respectively.
Annual park entrance fees
You can decide to pay annual entrance fees for Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
Individuals: Foreign residents pay USD 350 annually for park entrance fees and East African citizens pay UGX 150,000.
Couples: A couple who are foreign residents of Uganda pay USD 500 and East African citizens pay UGX200,000. Foreign residents with a family 4 children below 15 years of age pay USD 700 annual park entrance charges. An East African family is expected to pay UGX 300,000 as annual park entrance fees for Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Annual corporate fee for a foreign resident of Uganda is USD1500 and UGX2.5million for the East African citizens to be paid annually in order to enter the Bwindi impenetrable national park.
A safari guide and the taxi driver are both charged UGX 100,000 as annual park entrance fees to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Foreign resident of Uganda who is a tour operator is charged USD50.
A tour operator who is an East African citizen is expected to pay UGX125,000 as annual park entrance fees.
These park entrance fees are managed by Uganda wildlife Authority which is in charge of all the protected national parks of Uganda. All the activities done here are paid separate from the park entrance fees and such activities include gorilla trekking, nature walk, birding, hiking and many more. Of which gorilla trekking permits are at a charge of USD 600 per person per day for foreign non-residents, foreign residents of Uganda pay USD 500 per person per day to track and East African citizen pay UGX 250,000 per day per track. Accommodations are also paid separately.
