Explore Uganda’s Fresh Water Lakes : Uganda the pearl of Arica is blessed with abundance of fresh water bodies which provide a great opportunity for tourism due to the rich wildlife, aquatic life, sceneries, culture and origin found in these lakes.

Formed through different processes like; volcanic activity, human activity, Earth movement, glaciation, erosion among others, some of these lakes are seasonal while others are permanent and their water levels usually vary depending on factors such human activities, season among others.

However Uganda’s lakes possess beautiful features   that are worth enjoying while on a Uganda safari. In addition, some of these lakes are strategically located in national parks or a few kilometres from certain national parks for example Lake Mburo is situated in lake mburo national park, lake albert is situated in Murchison’s Falls National Park, Lake George is situated in Queen Elizabeth national park , Lake Victoria situated  next to Entebbe wildlife reserve, among others .This indeed provides a great opportunity for ones’ Uganda wildlife safari while in such national parks.

Lake Victoria

This is the largest fresh water lake in Uganda and the source of Africa’s longest river the Nile. This lake is a home of over 200 species of fish and borders Kenya and Tanzania.it also has numerous islands such as Ssese island, kalangala island among others and it is surrounded by beautiful beaches such as coco beach, lido beach among others.it is strategically located near the international airport of Uganda Entebbe.
