Mgahinga gorilla national park estimates 510kilomtere from southwest of Kampala and in driving hours it can take 8 to 9 hours and it can be accessed by road from Queen Elizabeth national park. The most commonly used route is passing through Kabale to Kisoro.

One can access the park from Kampala to Kabale which can be completed in 8 hours while using good tarmac road with a total driving distance of about 434kilomters to reach there.

Another route is few kilometers raising 76kilometeres to Kisoro town while using mountainous tarmac roads with steep ascent s and descents.

The most attractive route is the one which leaves the main road at Kabale and completes the shoreline of the superbly with panoramic viewing of scenic lake Bunyonyi which is a home of little birds, the lake re-joins the Kabale via Kisoro main road which is halfway point at Muka. 

The park can be reached from Bwindi impenetrable national park from Bwindi’s southern trekking trailheads at Nkuringo and Rushanga, from Kisoro it will cover over 28kilometers in the south and from there it will be 14 kilometers to reach the park.

Mgahinga national park can be reached while driving from the main trailhead at Buhoma pass through Ruhija trailhead and then join the Kabale –Kisoro tarmac road can take four hours drive.

The fact is that all Uganda’s national park can be accessed by air and flights to national parks can be scheduled with the help of the recognized tour operator who organizes for traveler’s pick up from the Airport or your accommodation facility. Most of the travelers enter Uganda by means Air transport and the only entry they use is Entebbe international Airport ‘’EBB’’ which is the main airport of Uganda. Entebbe Airport estimates 46kilomters from Uganda’s Capital Kampala city. More so, Entebbe International Airport is the originating place for both charter and scheduled flight that flies to Mgahinga gorilla national park and lands to Kisoro Airstrip. which is the nearby airstrip to the park.
