10 Days Water rafting and Primates safari is an enormous Uganda Budget safari package that will see you visit Jinja the city where the you find the Source of the Nile, engage in activities like water rafting, visit to Kidepo National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Mgahinga and Lake Bunyonyi. All this is entailed in one great safari package.
Day 1: Transfer to Jinja and afternoon boat cruise
Upon arrival in the morning hours at Entebbe airport, the 10 Days Water rafting and Primates safari starts when you meet with the tour guide from our company and embark on your journey to Jinja, a home to the Source of the Nile. This is a 2 hours drive with en route lunch as you also go through Mabira forest, the thickest and largest forests and also through large tea and sugar plantations in Lugazi. This is an interesting with a lot to see. Close to Jinja town, you will cross the bridge. Proceed to the source of river Nile for an afternoon/evening boat cruise along Lake Victoria. You have dinner and overnight stay at 2 Friends Hotel.
Day 2: Half day white water rafting.
After having morning breakfast, drive straight to the starting point for your half day rafting activity. You will go for the morning rafting which starts at 9am. You will be guided to the rafting spot where you will be given full gears needed and instructions for the activity. Then enjoy your half day amazing fun along the Nile. After having lunch, connect to your journey back to Kampala. Dinner and overnight stay Sheraton hotel.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After early morning breakfast, meet the drive and cross the 7 :00 am ferry for a transfer to Kibale forest national park in the western part of the country. This is a full day drive with lunch en route. Arrive Fort portal town in the evening and connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Kibale forest camp
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Have breakfast very early and later transfer to the park head office for a briefing about the endangered chimpanzees and later enter the forest with the guidance of a park ranger along with your tracking gears, packed water and snacks. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa with 13 species of primate where chimpanzees are the most visited. This tracking takes about 2-5 hours in search of the chimpanzees. On finding the primates, you will spend 1 hour viewing then while studying their behavior and taking pictures. After tracking, return to the lodge for lunch and refresh.
In the afternoon after lunch, connect and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park in the afternoon. Arrive in the park and connect to find your lodge. Enjojo lodge
Day 5: Lion experience and transfer to Bwindi forest
After early morning breakfast, connect for a lion tracking where you will view a pride of lions for 2 hours then connect to see other game in the Kisenyi sector and spot various animals like the elephants, Uganda Kobs, Leopards among others. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon you will drive out of the park to connect transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park-home of half of the remaining gorillas in the world. This is a 4-5 hours scenic drive. Arrive in the late afternoon and check in your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Haven lodge.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking experience.
Continue the 10 Days Water rafting and Primates safari and have breakfast and later they’ll transfer you to park offices for briefing about Mountain Gorilla trekking by a local guide. The time taken is usually between 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Meeting the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will observe and take pictures at very close range when the adults are feeding and groaning among themselves. After spending an hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your rangers will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer to the lodge for a restful evening. Day 7: Mountain/Volcano climbing at Mgahinga National park
After early morning breakfast, you will drive to Mgahinga gorilla national park, the only park “where silver meets gold”. This is because it’s where you will find the silverback gorillas and golden monkeys. You will report for briefing from your guide ranger about volcano climbing. After then you will start your mountain climbing and it can take the whole day depending on your level of fitness. After hiking, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Travelers’ Rest Hotel as above.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and afternoon boat/canoe ride
After early morning breakfast, continue the 10 Days Water rafting and Primates safari with a drive to Kabale district to lake Bunyonyi. The lake is located between Kisoro and Kabale in the southwestern Uganda close to the border with Rwanda, it’s believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa with the depth between 44m and 900m deep and width of about 7 to 25 kms. The driver will drive slowly so you can enjoy pictures of the rolling hills of the region. It’s usually one and a half hours drive with lunch stopover. Upon arrival at Lake Bunyonyi with great scenic views of surrounding hills, connect for a boat ride/ canoe paddle and visit the main islands including the community. The islands at the lake have great history that you will love to listen. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Eco-Resort
Day 9: Transfer back to Entebbe
After enjoying very early morning breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala with en route at the Equator and lunch. This is a 7-8 hours drive, then connect to Entebbe for an overnight and dinner at 2 Friends Hotel
Day 10: Drop off at Entebbe Airport
Depending on your time of departure, wake up and have breakfast and then connect to Entebbe International airport for your scheduled flight back home. End of 10 Days Water rafting and Primates safari.
