4 Days Uganda Gorilla & Golden Monkey Trekking is one of the best Uganda Primates Safari Packages that a traveler can engage in when they visit the country. The park sits in the south western region of Uganda on the border with Rwanda and DR Congo and is the smallest of all Uganda’s national park but filled with thrilling great engaging activities for any outdoor travellers. On your safari, you will participate in gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking and will be trekked in the Virunga. If possible you can engage in hiking at any of these stunning volcanoes, for example, Sabyinyo, Gahinga, and Muhavura through choosing to extend your stay. You can still visit the Batwa trails in this park and be able to meet with the Batwa people to give you a glimpse of how they live with mountains gorillas with other wild animals in this park

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National park
- Transfer to Mgahinga: Depending on traveler’s point of location, our driver/guide will pick you up but will first brief you about the 4 Days Uganda Gorilla and Golden monkey trekking. After you will start your journey to Mgahinga national park which takes 9 to 10 driving hours to reach the park activities. As you will be heading to Mgahinga you will have a stopover at the Equator along Masaka road to view the equator and then proceed to Mbarara town to have lunch en route and after lunch, you will drive direct to Mgahinga national park arrive check-in, have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking
- Gorilla trekking: After morning breakfast, transfer to briefing point inside Mgahinga to learn how to interact with these great ape in the wild. You will be led by the ranger guide to start your gorilla trekking in the park, after hiking for some few distances depending on the location of the gorillas. You will see them playing around and you will be given one hour to observe them while interacting with each other through playing feeding, swinging on the tree branches as for you enjoy photos.
- Batwa Trail Experience: After trekking, if possible the time is still there, you can go and visit the Batwa trails in this park and narrate you about their historical way of living on how they left with mountain gorillas in the forest. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Golden Monkey trekking
- Golden Monkey trekking: After early morning breakfast, your driver /guide will pick you from your lodge and transfer you to briefing point where golden monkey trekking begins. After a short briefing, you will then start your hike up in the search for golden monkeys which can only be in Virunga Volcanoes. In this activity, you will be helped or joined by porters to help in case you meet the wild buffaloes and Elephants which can be dangerous. Golden monkeys swift in their movements unlike the endangered gorillas, as you follow them while feeding on fruits, vegetation. In golden monkey experience, you will be given one hour to watch the golden monkey and to look at its stunning colour. Return to the lodge dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Return to Kampala
- Return to Kampala: After morning breakfast check out of the lodge, your drive –guide will transfer you to Kampala but on your way, you will have lunch en route in Mbarara town then after proceed to Kampala to be dropped off to place of resident, hotel or to Entebbe Airport to catch up with your flight.
