6 Days Rwanda Gorilla and Chimpanzee Safari

This 6 Days Rwanda gorilla and chimpanzee safari is a rwanda budget safaris that consists of the most exciting activities which involve all primate watching, to mention gorilla excursions, golden monkey tracking at volcanoes Rwanda national park, visiting the ibyiwacu cultural center and later proceeding to do chimpanzee tracking at nyungwe forest national park.
Day 1: arrival to Kigali and transfer to volcanoes Rwanda national park.
Our tour guide will welcome as soon as you land at the Kigali international airport, he will brief you about you trip in Rwanda and later drive you to volcanoes national park area. The journey takes about 3-4 hours but if time you have some extra time, you may be in position to take a brief Kigali city tour visiting the genocide memorial, local hand craft market. Once you get to volcanoes, you will check in at you lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: gorilla tracking and ibyiwacu cultural village tour.
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters, be briefed about the does and don’ts involved in the tracking exercise. Proceed to the forest in search for the mountain gorillas family you have been assigned to track from, the journey in the jungle is an exciting one as you will be able to see several plant species and other small forest animals. But for the mountain gorillas some it will take long to find them up to even 8 hours and other times find them is quite easy because they are always on the move searching for food. And once you meet the family you have been tasked to track from, a great feeling will encompass you, interact with them and take photos and later have you packed lunch. After reunite with your tour guide and drive back to your lodge for a break.
After the break in the afternoon, you will head to ibyiwacu cultural village, here you get a chance to meet the local drummers, musician and several other cultural practices will be showcased to you they include local ways of house construction, preparation of meals and so many more.
Before it gets to dusk, your will be returned to place of accommodation for dinners an overnight stay
Day 3: Golden monkey tracking and musanze caves.
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will still to the national headquarters similarly like the previous day register have a hot cup of coffee as you are being entertained by the local dances and performer while the final paper work for the tracking activities is being worked upon, you will be assigned a game ranger and a family of the golden monkey to track from. Proceed to the forest in search for the golden monkeys unlike the mountain gorillas, golden monkey are easy to trace, you will find them at the bamboo forest feeding on the shoots. On closure look you will find out that they are cute and quite shy creature.
Later withdraw reconnect with you guide and head for lunch at the lodge for lunch after lunch, you will visit the nearby musanze caves. The cave have been previously occupied by the local kings who used for storing food during the times of war. Presently they are being preserved for tourist activities.
Later drive back to place of accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Butare and Nyungwe forest national park.
Early in the morning after breakfast our guide will pick you and drive to Nyungwe forest national park to prepare for your chimpanzee tracking the following day. The journey will take you about 5 hours with a brief stop at Butare the intellectual capital of Rwanda. This is because it harbors many academic institutions of higher learning, seminaries and museums. As soon as you are done with Butare, the guide will drive to nyungwe forest national park. Once you reach, you will check in at your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: chimpanzee tracking and thick canopy walk.
Early in the morning after breakfast, you guide will accompany you to the park headquarters of Nyungwe forest. To organize for chimpanzee tracking. The chimpanzees are unique from other primates, unlike other primates, the chimpanzees are easy to find because they are always on the forest floor running about and making noise and swinging from branch to branch. It won’t take you a long time before you find the chimpanzees, funny enough they are bold to come take your hand and walk along with you. You have enough time interacting with them have many photos with them and later reunite with your guide who will take you for drive you to lunch at you place of accommodation
In the afternoon after lunch, you guide will take you for a canopy walk in the forest about 50 meters height suspension bridge above tree tops. There you get a bird’s view of the forest. Later you will return to your lodge for dinners and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Drive back to Kigali.
Early in the morning you will have a relaxed breakfast in a beautiful wild environment as you prepare to live for Kigali. Return to Kigali and if time allows you will be able to visit the Rwandan genocide memorial , visit local handcraft markets for crafts to take back home with you as souvenirs. Proceed to the airport in time for your flight.
