The park is a home of 450 species of birds, 76 species of mammals, 449 species of trees, 29 species of Reptiles which are under the management of Uganda wildlife Authority and it is a UNESCO world heritage site. Activities a visitor can engage in when visits the park include; Nature walk, chimpanzee trekking to be encountered in Budogo forest, sport fishing along lake Albert, hiking and experiencing the white waters of Victoria Nile,  game drive and many more.

Bwindi Impenetrable national park: The park boasts with half of mountain gorillas that are remaining in the world ,located in the south western part of Uganda the only park that has the largest  number of primates with over 400 endangered mountain gorillas and other various species,348 species of birds ,120 mammals ,163 tree species ,220 species of butterflies ,1000 flower plant species. Bwindi Impenetrable national park lies in the tropical montane rainforest with a variety of species. Activities done in here include gorilla trekking which is the main done activity with in this park,  Visiting the Batwa people, nature walk, and bird watching.

Mgahinga national park also lies in the south western part of Uganda and it is a home of mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking permits cost USD 600 per person per day and in 2020 the permits will be sold at a fee of USD700.

Kidepo valley national park: Kidepo National Park is situated in the north east direction of Uganda in Kaabong district which is approximately 1442 square kilometers of its low land. The park boasts with two valleys namely, kidepo and Narus valley  good for the hikers and is a home of various species of 86 mammals include cheetahs, spotted hyenas, giraffes, zebras, African buffaloes, leopards, lions, elephants, 500 bird species such as Karamoja apalis, purple grenadier, fox kestrel, Jackson’s hornbill, white-bellied go-away bird, Golden pipit and many more ,trees species. Activities include visiting the IK people, mount morungole good for hiking, game drive viewing,  visiting the Karamojong people, bird watching and many more.

Kibale national park: Kibale national park boasts with over 1500 wild chimpanzees with other small primates such as blue monkeys, white and black colobus monkeys, Red monkeys and many more. The park sits in the western region of Uganda which was established in 1993 to inhabit the diverse population of mammals, birds, butterflies, 13 primates on the land measuring 795 square kilometers. The main activity to be encountered in this park is Chimpanzee trekking which can be done in kibale forest, other activities include birding,  nature walk and many more.     

Lake Mburo national park: Lake Mburo national park is the smallest among Uganda’s national park and can be easily accessed by foot which lies in the western region in Kiruhura district of Uganda. It is the only park which is located close to the capital city of Kampala approximately 240 kilometers by road in the west of Kampala to its main destination. The park was created to protect a variety of mammals such as zebra, hippopotamus, impala, warthog, common eland, African buffalo, African leopard and over 300 bird species which inhabit the savannah grassland Activities that are done in the park include wildlife game drive, night game drive, bicycling safaris, Horseback Riding safaris, sport fishing, and hiking.

Rwenzori mountain national parkThis is one of the national parks in East Africa which is considered to be having the 3rd highest peak famously known as Margherita peak which measures 5,109 meters high above the sea level. The park is located in the southwestern part of Uganda at the edge of Albertine rift valley bordered with four districts i.e. Kasese district, Bundibugyo, Kabarole, and Ntoroko district, which covers 996 square kilometers of its land with unique and wonderful activities you can participate in and these include; Mountain trekking ,bird watching, culture encounter, guided hiking  and many more.

Mount Elgon national park: Mount Elgon national park is situated in the Eastern part of Uganda and it is famously known of having the highest peak ‘wagagai peak’ and it is close to sipi falls. The things to be done in mount Elgon and sipi falls include climbing mount Elgon, Rock painting, Biking Abseiling, Hiking, Rock climbing and also viewing of the falls.

Semiliki national park lies in the western region of Uganda in Bundibugyo district and the main attraction in here is viewing Sempaya hot springs.

Uganda’s national park are under the management of Uganda wildlife Authority and are at the list of UNESCO world heritage site. They are safe with nice lodges located inside the promises of parks and beautiful hotels close to the parks.

The best time to visit Uganda is throughout the year because the country comprises of two seasons dry and wet season. To note Uganda has moderate rainfall which might rain in the night or morning and during day time the sun chills out and life goes on.
